Very conscious we’ve been far to focussed on getting 108 back running and not put enough effort into updating this site! As you’ll no doubt have seen we finally got 33108 back in traffic for the Severn Valley Diesel Gala in May 2023 and since then have been battling the usual mechanical issues you’d expect…
A few pictures from 33111’s first trip away from Swanage in 14 years! good to see the 27 way jumper getting plenty of use! Photo credits: James Cox, Dave Fry, Steve Thorpe, Peter Evans
We are pleased to announce 33111 will be attending the Mid-Hants Railway diesel gala next month from July 15th to July 17th. The locomotive will move to/from Swanage by road.
A Busy month which has moved things forward significantly. Those who attended the Severn Valley Diesel Gala may have seem 33108 up on the jacks with its bogies removed. The following week we successfully changed 2 traction motors and cleaned up both bogies before reassembling the locomotive back to ground level! The Scaffold is now…

33111 Update
33111 as some of you may be aware worked it’s last trains at the Swanage Railway for a while. It will shortly be moving by road to the Bluebell Railway for their diesel gala next weekend. The loco will then be staying at Bluebell railway for a couple more weeks to undertake a private filming event and then should be working at the Beer Festival weekend over 20th to 22nd September. Hoping Bluebell will be publicising the use of the loco shortly.
After that event 33111 will be stopped for bodywork repairs and a few other jobs. To facilitate this the loco will be moving back to our long term base at Barrow Hill. The work will take some time so do not expect to see the loco back at Swanage until sometime later in 2025.
We would like to thank Swanage and Bluebell Railways for all their help in facilitating these moves and hope as many of you as possible can travel behind 33111 while it is at Bluebell.
We will try and keep our website updated in the future as works progress
